We made a default set of assumptions when producing this list, which we will go over briefly.

==== General Assertions ==== 

1. Unless a game is specifically marked with 18+, we are talking about the all-ages version(s).

1.5. A game with an all-ages and 18+ version will have 18+ differences in the notes field.

2. Japanese Locale is enabled for every platform where it is needed.

3. Compatibility ratings are the same ones that are used on [[https://www.protondb.com/|Proton DB]]

==== Linux-based Assertions ====
1. You have followed [[visualnovel:vnsonlinux|our guide]] on getting set up.

1.5 ''~/.local/share/wineprefixes/vn32'' and ''~/.local/share/wineprefixes/vn64'' should be your **basic** wineprefixes (more in #4).

2. Unless otherwise marked, we run games in a 32-bit wine prefix.

3. In lutris, we use system wine & winetricks, enable DXVK/VKD3D/D3D Extras/esync, 

disable screen saver, and reduce pulseaudio latency unless noted otherwise.

4. A **basic** prefix has ''mimeassoc=off'', ''fontsmooth=rgb'', and [[https://gist.githubusercontent.com/tn5421/cc02d57e2f3767ded86dbdce0952d683/raw/40f4764b26ac19047563eeae19c2746b59d02bb6/wine_breeze_colors.reg|wine-breeze colors]] imported to the registry, and nothing else.
